NICK COLEY / NEW WORK Jan. 4th - Feb. 27th
The Wall Gallery is once again proud to have Nick Coley's newest work. Nick Coley's work has its roots in the fanatical ethos of a small school in the South of France which made Cezanne its figurehead and had a very black and white view of art history. L'ecole Marchutz was a great place to get rooted in a concrete perspective of the fundamentals and a format of painting from real life. Twenty years later, he still paints on location, finding himself in relation to a place and seeking unity with his surroundings. Only now he's exchanged the south of France for the open-air nut house that is San Francisco. The show will coincide with the Oakland Art Murmur's upcoming first friday this January 4th and he will have another first friday on February the 1st from 6:00 - 9:00 . The show will continue now through to the 27th of February. Hope to see you there! Otherwise, you can come by anytime from Fridays to Saturdays 12- 6 pm , the doors will be open. STEVE LOMPREY / INDUSTRIAL ABSTRACTION / DEC. 7th - JAN. 2nd
Steve
Lomprey’s abstract work, which he calls “Industrial Abstraction” is a working
process that has emerged partly as a result of exploring the interaction of
non-compatible paint media. In his painting, Lomprey builds up cumulative
layers of non-representational painting using various media from Acrylic to
Silver Leaf as well as Silver Spray Paint. The creation and destruction of
these multiple layers, and the subsequent excavation of these layers serves as
a method of achieving a semi-intentional field of color and mark making. The show will coincide with the Oakland Art Murmur's upcoming first friday this December 7th from 6:00 - 9:00 and will continue now through to the 2nd of January. Hope to see you there! Otherwise, you can come by anytime from Fridays to Saturdays 12- 6 pm , the doors will be open. Click on the picture to see it larger.

STEVE LOMPREY will be showing his new painting series: INDUSTRIAL ABSTRACTION starting on November 2 thru December the 7th. His new working process has emerged as a result of exploring the interaction of non-compatible paint media. The creation and destruction of multiple layers and the subsequent excavation of these layers serves as a method of achieving a semi-intentional field of color and mark making. The paintings appear almost as a result of exposure to heavy machinery or industrial processes. The show will coincide with the Oakland Art Murmur's upcoming first friday this November 2nd from 6:00 - 9:00 and will continue now through to the 7th of December. Hope to see you there! JENNY ROBINSON / LARGE MONOPRINTS EXTENDED THROUGH JUNE 10th!!!
JENNY ROBINSON'S Prints WILL HAVE AN EXTENDED SHOWING THROUGH JUNE 10th! As an artist who works primarily on paper, Printmaking is the perfect vehicle for Jenny to explore these themes of atmosphere and corrosion. The Monoprint process enables her to create images that are drenched with ink. She uses deeply saturated colors and textures not only to reveal the surfaces of the structures but also to permeate the emptiness around them. The physical nature of, and energy involved in making large format Monoprints imbues the work with the frank monumentality of it's subject matter. Jenny's show will coincide with the Oakland Art Murmur's first friday this JUNE 1st from 5:30 - 9:30. Hope to see you there! Otherwise, you can come by anytime from Fridays to Saturdays 12- 6 pm , the doors will be open. Click on the picture to see it larger.
