Rebekah’s paintings, drawings, and collages investigate tension between geometric abstraction and decoration. Drawing on textile prints, architecture, and art historical references Rebekah employs familiar forms, which through a process of translation and reiteration, are used to create her own pictorial language. Rebekah received an MFA from California College of the Arts in May 2012. She lives and works in San Francisco. The show will coincide with the Oakland Art Murmur's upcoming first friday this August 3rd from 6:00 - 9:00 and will continue now through to the 4th of September. Hope to see you there!
