STEVE LOMPREY / INDUSTRIAL ABSTRACTION / DEC. 7th - JAN. 2nd

Steve Lomprey’s abstract work, which he calls “Industrial Abstraction” is a working process that has emerged partly as a result of exploring the interaction of non-compatible paint media. In his painting, Lomprey builds up cumulative layers of non-representational painting using various media from Acrylic to Silver Leaf as well as Silver Spray Paint. The creation and destruction of these multiple layers, and the subsequent excavation of these layers serves as a method of achieving a semi-intentional field of color and mark making. The show will coincide with the Oakland Art Murmur's upcoming first friday this December 7th from 6:00 - 9:00 and will continue now through to the 2nd of January. Hope to see you there! Otherwise, you can come by anytime from Fridays to Saturdays 12- 6 pm , the doors will be open. Click on the picture to see it larger.
